Software Technical Lead - Senior Data Engineer Work Location: 100% Remote (U.S.-based candidates only) The ProSource Group is an Information Technology consulting firm. We are currently seeking a Software Technical Lead - Senior Data Engineer to join our team in support of one of our premier SaaS platform technology clients. About the Opportunity We are seeking a highly skilled Software Technical Lead - Senior Data Engineer to support one of our SaaS platform clients that is continuously developing, enhancing, and delivering a highly integrated, data-driven platform for its customers. Their mission-driven work relies on a sophisticated product ecosystem with deeply interconnected data and application infrastructure. Due to the scale and complexity of this platform, the engineering organization places a strong emphasis on technical ownership, thoughtful data architecture, and clear, proactive communication. The individual in this role will lead a team of Senior Data Engineers working within a highly complex, data-intensive product environment spanning operational systems, reporting platforms, marketplace activity, and advanced analytics. This position requires deep technical expertise in database architecture, large-scale data systems, and data warehouse strategy. In addition to strong technical capabilities, this role requires excellent leadership and coordination skills. The ideal candidate is a proven technical leader who can guide and mentor engineers while remaining hands-on when necessary. You will be responsible for leading a geographically distributed engineering team spanning multiple time zones, helping ensure alignment, accountability, and engineering excellence. Position Qualifications • 10+ years of experience in technical leadership roles within database engineering and data architecture • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field • Strong experience with database architecture, data modeling, and data warehouse performance optimization • Deep hands-on experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL • Strong understanding of JavaScript, Node.js, and Express.js • Broad experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in real-world, production environments (not surface-level familiarity) Required AWS experience includes: • AWS Lambda • Amazon S3 • Amazon SQS • Amazon SNS • Amazon Connect Additional qualifications: • Proven experience leading and mentoring geographically distributed engineering teams • Demonstrated ability to maintain engineering quality, accountability, and delivery standards • Experience running technical meetings and coordinating with multiple stakeholders • Experience working in a Jira + Slack collaborative engineering workflow • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Additional Requirements Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
