Technology Resilience Lead Enterprise Architect
Contract – inside IR35
UK based
£700 per day
A global technology consultancy is seeking a senior Technology Resilience Lead Enterprise Architect to embed within a major financial services client. The programme is funded for three years, with an initial six-month contract.
This is a horizontal enterprise architecture role focused on raising resilience maturity across a complex, multi-region banking estate.
You will operate across application, cloud, infrastructure, data and operational domains, shaping resilience standards and influencing engineering practices at scale.
Key responsibilities:
• Contribute to enterprise technology resilience strategy across application, infrastructure, security, data and operations
• Define and embed reusable resilience design patterns and reference architectures
• Turn production incident data and failure analysis into architectural improvements
• Drive adoption of SRE practices including SLOs, SLIs and error budgets
• Strengthen observability standards across logging, monitoring and telemetry
• Support resilience scenario testing, FMEA and controlled failure exercises
• Contribute to central resilience tooling and visibility initiatives
• Produce architecture and strategy papers for senior technology leadership
Essential experience:
• Senior engineer or enterprise architect background across cloud, application, infrastructure or data
• Demonstrable expertise in technology resilience and service availability
• Experience within large, regulated financial services environments
• Strong understanding of DevOps and SRE operating models
• Experience with CI/CD, automation and infrastructure as code
• Ability to analyse incident and operational data to drive systemic improvements
Desirable:
• Microservices and container architecture
• Observability tooling and telemetry frameworks
• IT Service Management
• ServiceNow exposure, particularly Continual Improvement or Integrated Risk modules
• Experience operating within global organisations
This role requires a technically credible architect with an engineering mindset who can challenge constructively at senior level and drive resilience uplift across distributed teams.
