Role description
Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Delta)-Solutions Engineer We are seeking a Senior Palantir Forward Deployed Engineer (Delta) to lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-scale solutions on the Palantir Foundry platform. This role combines hands-on engineering, solution architecture, and stakeholder engagement to deliver high-impact data, analytics, and operational solutions. The ideal candidate has deep, hands-on Palantir Foundry experience and can independently build end-to-end data pipelines, develop Ontology-driven applications, implement AI-powered workflows, and drive platform adoption across complex business environments. As a trusted technical leader, you will partner closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate operational challenges into scalable, production-ready solutions. Key Qualifications: β€’ 5+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, solutions architecture, or technical consulting β€’ 2+ years of hands-on Palantir Foundry experience (required) β€’ Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and modern data engineering practices β€’ Experience with Foundry Ontology, Workshop, OSDK, data pipelines, and application development β€’ Proven ability to architect and deploy enterprise-grade data and analytics solutions β€’ Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills Contract Details: β€’ 100% Remote β€’ 6-Month W2 Contract (extension possible) β€’ 2 Openings β€’ Must be authorized to work on a W2 basis The Delta (Engineer): Writes the actual code, navigates messy legacy data environments, and engineers production-grade solutions. They function like scrappy startup CTOs who build under live operational pressures . A Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) is a hybrid software engineer and customer-facing problem solver who embeds directly at client sites. Pioneered by Palantir, FDEs build custom, production-ready solutions on top of the company's core platforms (such as Foundry and AIP) to tackle real-world operational challenge s. The role is distinct from both traditional consulting and standard software engineering, and it forms the backbone of Palantir's service delivery model. Key aspects of an FDE at Palantir inclu de: 1. The Core Responsibilities β€’ Prototyping & Building: FDEs do not just configure software; they write code, design data pipelines, and build custom workflows inside the client's environment to ensure the software functions perfectly under actual constraints. β€’ Bridging the Gap: FDEs work closely with "Deployment Strategists" (domain experts who understand the client's specific industry, such as defense or healthcare) to translate institutional problems into technical solutions. β€’ .Field-Driven Productization: When FDEs build custom fixes for a client, Palantir's core engineering team observes these solutions and abstracts them into standard, reusable product features for every one. 1. The Day-to-Day Location: FDEs spend a significant portion of their week working on-site at the customer’s offices, integrating themselves deeply into the client's daily operations. β€’ Time Allocation: The job is highly dynamic. FDEs typically spend 40-50% of their time writing and testing code, and the rest working on data integration, troubleshooting broken environments, and understanding user needs. β€’ Evolution: FDEs are now also assisted by the Palantir AI FDE, an AI-powered conversational agent that operates platforms like Foundry, helping automate data transformations and ontology e dits.3. Career Path & Industry Impact β€’ High-Value Experience: Because FDEs tackle the "hairiest," most complex operational problems in the field, the role is known to be an incredible training ground for startup founders and tech leaders. β€’ Industry Trend: The FDE model has proven so successful that many modern AI and enterprise SaaS companies have adopted it to deliver complex products.
