Role description
Duration: 8 Months
Job Description:
β’ The S&OP / IBP Consultant will lead and optimize the end-to-end Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle for the clientβs business unit, driving strategic alignment between Product, Supply, and Finance.
β’ This role requires deep expertise in Integrated Business Planning (IBP), process facilitation, financial forecasting, and cross-functional communication to ensure effective demand-supply balance, spend management, and business execution.
β’ The ideal candidate is a proactive planner, a structured communicator, and a strong collaborator who can translate complex operational data into clear, actionable insights for executive stakeholders.
Overall Responsibilities:
S&OP / IBP Experience:
β’ Support the end-to-end Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle, including planning, scheduling (~10 alignment/prep sessions per cycle), facilitating monthly S&OP meetings, and driving recommendations for Executive S&OP (ESOP).
β’ Partner cross-functionally with Product, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure alignment on demand forecasts, inventory outlooks, and spend projections.
β’ Own key planning deliverables such as milestone and roadmap tracking, Long-Term View (LTV) simulations, and Execution & Strategy Objectives (ESO) roll-ups.
β’ Prepare and present consolidated recommendations, insights, and executive summaries for ESOP decision-making.
Spend & Financial Planning:
β’ Lead monthly MPS (Master Production Schedule) roll-up and spend approval cycles in partnership with Finance.
β’ Manage ongoing budget tracking, investment approvals, and spend governance through internal frameworks such as IMF (Investment Management Framework) and SAC/IAC (Spend and Investment Approval Committees).
β’ Ensure spend plans are tightly linked to operational forecasts and business priorities.
Execution & Operations (S&OE):
β’ Oversee Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) processes to track plan adherence, identify variances, and lead corrective action planning.
β’ Monitor near-term execution metrics β including service levels, inventory health, and capacity utilization β ensuring smooth transitions between planning and execution cycles.
β’ Support issue resolution and scenario simulations to mitigate risks to demand, supply, or financial targets.
Continuous Improvement & Change Initiatives:
β’ Drive CTB (Change the Business) initiatives focused on process optimization, system improvements, and S&OP maturity enhancements.
β’ Partner with analytics and systems teams to leverage planning tools (e.g., SAP IBP, Anaplan, o9, Kinaxis, or internal tools like Hue2) for data accuracy, automation, and reporting efficiency.
β’ Standardize documentation, templates, and process metrics to ensure repeatable, scalable planning excellence.
Required Experience (Mandatory):
β’ 6+ years of experience in S&OP, IBP, or Supply Chain Planning, preferably in large-scale or matrixed organizations.
β’ Proven experience leading cross-functional planning cycles and executive-level decision forums.
β’ Strong analytical, financial modeling, and scenario-planning skills.
β’ Proficiency in planning tools such as SAP IBP, Kinaxis, Anaplan, or o9, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
β’ Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
β’ Ability to thrive in a dynamic, data-driven, and global environment.
Desired Experience (Nice to have):
β’ Experience working within tech, consumer goods, or manufacturing industries.
β’ Familiarity with Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and financial integration frameworks.
β’ Exposure to executive-level operations cadence and performance management processes (S&OP, ESOP, QBR, OKRs).
β’ Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to manage ambiguity.
Education:
