

SOX Data Analyst
Location: Hybrid in any of the following:
Minneapolis, MN, OR Dallas, TX OR Denver, CO
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical SOX Data Analyst to support our Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance efforts. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with internal audit, IT, and business teams to analyze, track, and report on SOX control data. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in data analysis, internal controls, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect, validate, and analyze data related to SOX controls across business and IT processes.
• Support the development and execution of SOX testing procedures by extracting relevant datasets and preparing analytical reports.
• Collaborate with control owners and auditors to ensure accurate documentation of control performance and test results.
• Identify patterns, trends, or anomalies that may indicate control gaps or areas for improvement.
• Maintain dashboards and data visualizations that monitor compliance metrics and audit findings.
• Assist in the automation and enhancement of SOX compliance processes using tools like Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, or data analytics.
• Familiarity with the COSO framework and SOX 404 requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) preferred.
Preferred Certifications (not required):
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Certified Data Analyst (e.g., Microsoft, Tableau)
