Space Planning and Analytics
Location: Remote USA
Contract Length: 3 months (with potential extension)
Contract Type: W2 through Staffing Supplier
Pay Rate: $38 - $40/hr
Summary:
The Space Planning & Analytics (SP&A) role will work cross-functionally with the WaaS, CatMan, and Local Ops to optimize revenue/square foot across our client’s real estate portfolio. This role involves managing database integrity, conducting site/data audits, and overseeing site-level redesigns. As a new role within a new team, the individual will be expected to not only contribute to existing processes but also help redefine our strategic approach over time. 1-2 years in a business analyst level role is preferred, for skillsets and responsibilities see below (note: #1 & #2 are required skillsets, #3 is nice to have)
1. Site Redesigns (30% of time) – Skills: google sheets/excel, problem solving
- Implement best practices to update layouts to maximize site efficiencies (storage, put-away, filling, etc).
- Create net new lucid chart layouts where there are gaps today and work with Local teams to keep these updated over time.
- Support small scale test & pilots (e.g., multi-bin) over time to drive new learnings
- Become an expert on redesigns, elevating ideas and observations to the team to adapt them over time.
- Bubble up opportunities for capex investments to improve site efficiencies and drive greater revenue/VP.
1. Equipment Management (50% of time) – Skills: project management, clear communication
- Place orders for new storage equipment and coordinate installations with Local Ops.
- Track budgets, support forecasting on new investment. Escalate concerns on power constraints.
- Coordinate power upgrades with Local Ops, ensuring timely outcomes to unlock new equipment. Catalog these improvements over time to inform power capacity data.
1. Data Management (20% of time) – Skills: Google Sheets/ Excel, some SQL experience
- Conduct multi-week data uploads on capacity dashboards (equipment and SKU data)
- Maintain and update revenue/square foot dashboard, highlighting issues and improvement opportunities.
- Regularly audit capacity data for accuracy and identify trends. Work with Local Ops to ingest observations into our data sets (e.g., capacity validation, equipment counts).
- Create documentation for all of our dashboards, uploads, and tools
