Role description
The Splunk SRE Engineer is responsible for leading and executing the migration of data, dashboards, alerts, and configurations from existing Splunk environments to Elasticsearch. This role requires deep expertise in Splunk architecture, data ingestion, observability tooling, and ELK stack deployment. The engineer will ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of logging and monitoring platforms while collaborating closely with technical teams and stakeholders. The position also involves containerization, CI/CD optimization, and cloud infrastructure management to support robust, enterprise-grade observability solutions. Roles & Responsibilities: • Lead the migration of Splunk data, dashboards, alerts, and configurations to Elasticsearch. • Deploy, configure, and optimize Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana for centralized logging and analytics. • Design, build, and maintain high-availability ELK clusters with strong performance tuning. • Manage containerized workloads using Docker and orchestrate services with Kubernetes. • Optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or similar tools to enhance deployment efficiency. • Develop, manage, and support cloud infrastructure platforms with a focus on networking and security. • Ensure observability platform reliability through proactive monitoring, automation, and incident resolution. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance and clear communication. • Document system configurations, standards, migration plans, and operational procedures. Required Skills: • Strong expertise in Splunk architecture, data ingestion, and dashboard/alert development. • Hands-on experience with the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana). • Proficiency in deploying and maintaining Kibana visualizations and dashboards. • Solid understanding of containerization with Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes. • Experience optimizing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or equivalent tools. • Ability to build and manage cloud infrastructure, preferably with cloud networking knowledge.
