Splunk Engineer

Splunk Engineer (Contract) Work Type: Contract Overview We are seeking an experienced Splunk Engineer to support enterprise log management, analytics, and security monitoring initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise with Splunk SPL, data ingestion, dashboards, and cloud integrations in complex IT environments. Responsibilities • Develop and optimize advanced SPL queries for analytics, monitoring, and security use cases. • Manage data ingestion and indexing from cloud platforms, servers, applications, and endpoints. • Configure and maintain Splunk forwarders and data inputs. • Design and deliver dashboards, reports, and visualizations for technical and business stakeholders. • Automate processes using Python, Bash, and PowerShell. • Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and security systems. • Support self-hosted and Splunk GovCloud environments. • Integrate Splunk with platforms such as ServiceNow, Archer, Azure, and AWS. • Manage data forwarding using Syslog-NG, Cribl, AWS Lambda, and Azure Function Apps. Qualifications • Strong hands-on experience with Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL). • Proven experience with data ingestion, forwarder management, and dashboard development. • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell). • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and security concepts. • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 5+ years. Preferred Skills • Experience with Splunk AI Toolkit (AITK / MLTK). • Knowledge of Splunk MCP Server. • Exposure to monitoring AI/LLM-based application stacks. • Familiarity with cloud-native and serverless integrations.
