Role description
Role: Sr. Splunk Engineer
Location: Bensalem, PA (Onsite)
Duration: ~2.5 Months Contract (550 hours)
We are seeking a Senior Splunk Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize a highly available, multi-site Splunk Enterprise platform, including Splunk Enterprise Security (ES). The role involves building and configuring core components such as indexer clusters, search head clusters, Cluster Manager, Deployer, and Monitoring Console.
The candidate will onboard and validate diverse data sources (Windows, firewall, cloud), ensure CIM compliance, and configure authentication (LDAP/SAML), custom indexes, and load balancing. Responsibilities include deploying forwarders, creating deployment apps, and automating rollouts.
You will install and operationalize Splunk ES, validate data models, correlation searches, dashboards, and tune performance for optimal security monitoring. The role also includes ensuring platform stability, validating ingest pipelines, and delivering documentation such as architecture diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Candidates must have 5+ years of Splunk engineering experience in distributed environments, strong Linux and networking knowledge, and hands-on ES deployment experience. Splunk certifications and SIEM/security operations experience are preferred.
