Splunk ES Engineer/Admin - Remote

Role: Splunk Engineer/Admin Contract is 5 months,  with potential to extend Location: Remote Pay range: $75 to $85 an hour on W2 Overview / Notes: • Long-standing on-prem Splunk environment; addressing a data swamp with 8-10 years of historical data • Heavy data gathering: analyzing large datasets to build metrics that support decision-making • Focus on optimizing search performance and infrastructure • Implement proper data governance (access, retention, lifecycle); determine which data is actively used • Hybrid role: ~50% Splunk engineering, ~50% admin tasks • Fully remote work possible, PST hours • No AI/ML work required • Contract is 5 months,  with potential to extend Key Skills / Experience: • 8-10 years of experience with Splunk Enterprise / Enterprise Security admin and development • SPL optimization, indexing, and performance tuning • On-prem infrastructure optimization and reliability • Data integration and pipeline stability • Governance knowledge (access, retention, schema) • Python or scripting for automation • Splunk certifications are a plus Interview Process: • Two interviews 1. First Round: 15-minute personal interview with the hiring manager 1. Final Round: Interview with a couple of Splunk experts on the team
