Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Data Analyst & Reporting Developer to support the design, development and maintenance of reports, dashboards, data models and visualisations for the programme. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the Microsoft data ecosystem, advanced SQL development, and expertise in BI & reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and OLAP/SSRS.
Key Responsibilities
1. SQL Development
Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries (T-SQL) within Microsoft SQL Server.
Build stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and performance-tuned queries.
Work with database architects to maintain database integrity and performance.
1. Data Warehousing
Support the design and maintenance of Data Warehouse structures.
Develop ETL data flows and ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability.
Work with dimensional modelling (Star/Snowflake schemas).
1. OLAP & Reporting Services
Create, maintain, and optimize OLAP cubes (e.g., SQL Server Analysis Services – SSAS).
Develop enterprise-level reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Manage cube processing, deployments, and performance optimisation.
1. BI & Dashboard Development
Build interactive dashboards, data models, and visualisations using Power BI.
Develop analytics dashboards and reporting solutions using Tableau.
Implement row-level security, DAX measures, and Power Query transformations.
1. Data Analysis & Insight
Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Perform deep data analysis to support business decision-making.
Validate and troubleshoot data accuracy across reporting layers.
1. Stakeholder Collaboration
Work closely with business and technical teams to deliver reporting solutions.
Provide support, documentation, and training for dashboards and reports.
Manage multiple reporting requests and prioritise workload effectively.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills
Strong SQL Development expertise (T-SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning).
Solid understanding of SQL database architectures and relational modelling.
Hands-on experience with Data Warehousing concepts, ETL, and dimensional modeling.
Proficiency in OLAP cube development (SSAS) and SSRS reporting.
Advanced skills in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modelling).
Experience with Tableau dashboards, data blending, and visualisation best practices.
