Role description
Job Title: SQL Developer
Location: NYC - Dallas or 100% Remote (3 Days a Week)
Duration: 1+ year
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views to support business and reporting needs
• Partner closely with SSIS developers to support and troubleshoot ETL packages, data flows, and integration processes
• Collaborate with Power BI developers to ensure data models and underlying SQL structures support efficient, accurate reporting and dashboarding
• Perform data profiling, validation, and quality checks across source and target systems
• Tune queries and indexes for performance across large, complex datasets
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications in partnership with stakeholders across the business and technology teams
• Document data flows, schema changes, and technical processes for ongoing maintainability
• Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies, performance issues, and pipeline failures
Required Qualifications
• Strong hands-on experience writing and optimizing complex T-SQL (SQL Server preferred)
• Demonstrated experience working alongside SSIS developers on ETL/data integration processes
• Demonstrated experience working alongside Power BI developers, with an understanding of how data models feed reporting layers
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently in a long-term consulting capacity, managing competing priorities across multiple stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
• Financial services experience (asset management, hedge fund, private credit, or related) is a strong plus
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices
• Experience supporting front-, middle-, or back-office reporting functions within financial services
