Role: Sr. Azure Cloud Engineer (Databricks, Containerization) Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite Hybrid - 3 Days onsite in a week) Job Type: W2 / C2C Contract Experience: 10+ Years Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer with deep hands-on experience in GitHub Actions CI/CD workflows and infrastructure provisioning on Azure using Terraform. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Azure networking and platform services (App Gateway, APIM, AKS, ACA, Cosmos, Azure SQL), strong experience in Azure Databricks, feature engineering, and building data pipelines with Azure Data Lake. Advanced skills in containerization, troubleshooting, and deployment are essential. Python programming and certification are required. Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and manage GitHub Actions workflows for automated CI/CD. • Provision and manage Azure infrastructure and platforms using Terraform (IaC). • Architect and deploy solutions using Azure services such as App Gateway, APIM, AKS, ACA, and serverless using function apps. • Develop and optimize data pipelines in Azure Databricks and Azure Data Lake. • Perform feature engineering and data engineering using Python in Databricks notebooks. • Work with Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and Delta Tables for secure, scalable data management. • Design and implement analytic solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics or similar platforms. • Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Container Apps (ACA). • Configure and manage ConfigMaps, secrets, ingress controllers, and service mesh (Istio/Linkerd) in AKS. • Implement best practices for containerization, including Docker image creation, registry management, and security. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Azure resources, deployments, and networking. • Ensure security, scalability, and reliability of cloud solutions. • Collaborate with data scientists, platform engineers, and DevOps teams. • Document solutions and provide knowledge transfer to team members. Requirements: • Extensive hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and workflow automation. • Proven expertise in Terraform for Azure infrastructure/platform provisioning. • Deep knowledge of Azure App Gateway, APIM, AKS, ACA. • Strong experience with Azure Databricks, Python, and data engineering. • Experience building and managing data pipelines in Azure Data Lake. • Advanced skills in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). • Experience with service mesh, ConfigMaps, and secrets in AKS. • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for Azure resources and deployments. • Python programming experience (required). • Terraform Associate certification (required). • Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification (required). • DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer Associate) certification (required). • AKS certification (nice to have). Preferred Skills: • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting in Azure. • Strong hands-on end-to-end DevOps and SecOps experience, Logic Apps, Service Bus, and Event Grid. • Strong communication and documentation skills. • Experience in enterprise cloud environments. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
