Role description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the dual role of Product Owner and Business Analyst within our Data Governance team. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between vision and execution in a large data platform project, ensuring that strategic initiatives are brought to life through effective collaboration with business stakeholders and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Represent the Data Governance team in a large data platform project, identifying upcoming work and aligning it with organizational goals.
β’ Communicate the vision and strategy for Data Governance and Data Quality within the project.
β’ Create, prioritize, and maintain the backlog for Data Governance and Data Quality tasks, ensuring items are well-defined, actionable, and aligned with project objectives.
β’ Develop and refine user stories with clear requirements and acceptance criteria to guide Data Governance and development teams in executing project tasks.
β’ Act as liaison between stakeholders and the development team, managing stakeholder relationships to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met.
β’ Facilitate collaboration with other Product Owners, Business Analysts, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
β’ Guide cross-functional teams through the entire lifecycle of changeβfrom uncovering business needs and documenting requirements to validating solutions.
β’ Facilitate engaging sessions with stakeholders, craft clear and actionable user stories, and lead user acceptance testing to ensure every solution delivers real value.
β’ Monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of features and improvements.
Qualifications
β’ 3-5+ years Business Analyst experience
β’ In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry
β’ Experience with external vendors and agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban)
β’ Strong analytical, project management, and leadership abilities
β’ Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
β’ Business Analyst certification (CBAP, BABOK) a plus
Preferred Skills:
β’ 3-5 years experience in insurance/financial services
β’ Strong facilitation and leadership skills
β’ Communication across technical and business teams; stakeholder management
β’ Problem-solving, critical thinking, and adaptability
β’ Meeting and workshop facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution
β’ Presentation skills, time management, and prioritization
