• Summary/Objective
Trewon is seeking a committed Sr. Cyber Defense Analyst to help support our federal client and team.
This position supports increased Cloud oversight and management responsibilities, enabling the ISSO to keep pace with the expansion of cloud technologies and platforms. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of hands-on experience with Wiz Cloud Security Suite (Wiz Cloud, Wiz Defend, and Wiz Code) and will play a key role in onboarding systems to the Wiz platform. Excellent English fluency and communication skills are mandatory, as the role requires frequent coordination with system users , system owners, ISSOs, and cybersecurity teams.
The candidate should demonstrate knowledge of cloud services, automation processes, and federal cybersecurity frameworks to ensure compliance and oversight as prescribed by ISO/IEC 27018:2019 and FISMA 2002 reporting requirements
Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact for onboarding and managing systems on the Wiz platform, including configuration, integrations and monitoring across Wiz Cloud, Wiz Defend, and Wiz Code.
• Enable quick and easy planning, development, creation, and interpretation of federal and departmental cloud-related cybersecurity policies.
• Identify areas requiring further guidance, recommend corrective actions, and provide ISSO Oversight and support.
• Aid cloud system owners and ISSOs (domestic and overseas) in planning, designing, developing, testing, and facilitating cloud system cybersecurity functions and policies, including A&A of platforms and major systems residing in the cloud.
• Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining cybersecurity policies, plans, and procedures.
• Analyze vulnerability scans and recognize vulnerabilities in classified, unclassified, Non-Enterprise Networks (NEN) and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Wiz).
• Utilize Wiz platform capabilities for posture management, vulnerability detection, compliance, and reporting, and manage external integrations with ServiceNow, Splunk, Archangel, Microsoft Teams, Okta (including configuring SSO with Okta as Identity Provider), GitLab, Qualys, and Tenable.
• Collect and visualize data from various cyber defense resources using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Navigate and manage Microsoft Azure environments, including Defender for Cloud recommendations and alerts.
• Demonstrate ability to read and update internal policies and plans ensuring appropriate ISSO oversight.
• Navigate FedRAMP portal and understand federal cloud compliance frameworks.
• Utilize a variety of security scanning and event correlation tools within AWS, Microsoft SCC, Google Cloud, and Wiz environments.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity engineers and technicians to support full lifecycle cloud system security.
• Prepare reports, analytics, and documentation supporting system authorization, onboarding, and compliance tracking.
• Highly organized with the ability to work on multiple simultaneous efforts.
• Proficiency in virtual communication tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Demonstrated problem solving, organizational and time management skills
• Experience in supporting Federal Government agencies, community- based organizations, or direct customer-facing projects.
• Effectively lead others to achieve shared goals through cooperation, sharing knowledge, joint problem-solving, and celebrating success.
• Basic Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills, including formatting, designing basic quantitative graphs/figures, and slide design, if needed.
• Proven understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
Eligibility Requirements
• 1-2 years of experience using Wiz Cloud, Wiz Defend, and/or Wiz Code platforms)
• Strong proficiency in English communication (verbal and written) — must be able to clearly communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Undergraduate degree and the ability to self-direct through an oversight engagement (planning, conducting kick-offs, communication, documentation, and reporting).
• 4+ years of experience with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and its implementation for successful A&A/ATO processes.
• 2+ years of experience with security scanning and event correlation tools within AWS, Microsoft SCC, and Google Cloud environments.
• Demonstrated understanding of cybersecurity practices and the Federal Risk Management Framework.
• Familiarity with Wiz integrations, including API-based and service-account configurations.
• Reporting experience using Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
• Excellent organizational and presentation skills, capable of operating effectively in fast-paced, multi-task environments.
• Experience supporting Federal Government agencies or customer-facing cybersecurity projects.
Preferred Qualifications
• Professional certifications such as Wiz certifications , Security+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, Google Cloud Certified Professional, CEH, CISSP, or PMP.
• Experience delivering technical presentations and leading client meetings.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 27018:2019 compliance, FISMA, and FedRAMP processes.
• ISSO experience: 6 years
• NIST Standards experience: 4 years
