Job Summary
STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Sr Data Analyst on behalf of our client in Ohio and New York. This role sits within an Enterprise Data and Information Services (EDIS) team supporting Fraud and AML initiatives. The analyst will play a key role in building and maintaining enterprise data mappings and pipelines that support reporting, analytics, and regulatory decision-making. The position requires strong expertise in data analysis, SQL development, and cloud-based data platforms to ensure accurate, high-quality, and auditable data solutions across the enterprise data supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Own end-to-end data attribution and mapping from source systems to Fraud, AML, and enterprise data marts
β’ Translate business requirements into detailed data mapping, transformation logic, and technical specifications
β’ Develop, test, and maintain datasets using SQL and cloud data platforms
β’ Perform peer code reviews and ensure adherence to development and data standards
β’ Design and optimize SQL queries for large-scale datasets, primarily in cloud environments
β’ Implement and support data quality validation checks and automation frameworks
β’ Collaborate with data architects to support data models, entity relationship diagrams, and solution design
β’ Create and maintain data mapping documentation and context diagrams for audit and compliance purposes
β’ Define business rules, derived fields, and transformation logic for enterprise datasets
β’ Participate in mapping and architecture review sessions, providing technical input and feedback
β’ Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimization, and enhanced data quality
β’ Support Agile delivery processes using tools such as Jira and Confluence
β’ Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree with 8+ years of data analytics experience, or Masterβs degree with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent experience
β’ Minimum 3+ years of SQL development experience in complex data environments
β’ Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, particularly BigQuery
β’ Strong experience in data mapping, data analysis, and transformation logic development
β’ Experience working in Agile environments using Jira and Confluence
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills
β’ High attention to detail with a strong focus on data quality and accuracy
β’ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience in Fraud, AML, Risk, or Financial Services domain
β’ Familiarity with ETL tools such as Ab Initio or similar platforms
β’ Knowledge of data governance, auditability, and regulatory compliance practices
β’ Experience implementing data quality automation and validation frameworks
β’ Understanding of financial institution risk management practices
