Position Overview The Data Reporting Analyst will play a critical role in transforming raw data into meaningful insights that support high-level decision-making. You will collect, analyze, validate, and interpret complex datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business objectives. Working with both business and technical teams, you will support high-priority initiatives by defining data requirements, identifying trends, creating clear and intuitive reports, and recommending data-driven improvements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences. Key Responsibilities β€’ Acquire, validate, and analyze data from various sources to support operational and program decision-making. β€’ Create recurring and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate insights clearly and effectively. β€’ Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify underlying trends, correlations, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. β€’ Develop and maintain metadata, tables, data dictionaries, and user-friendly reporting interfaces. β€’ Assess data requirements, document current (β€œas-is”) and future (β€œto-be”) data models, and identify opportunities to enhance data quality and efficiency. β€’ Apply data best practices and ensure adherence to established standards across reporting and analytics activities. β€’ Evaluate how data policies, processes, and procedures impact system functions and business operations. β€’ Establish benchmarks and frameworks for performance measurement and operational trend analysis. β€’ Provide recommendations to leadership based on analytic findings, including insights on technology gaps and operational effectiveness. β€’ Support multiple concurrent initiatives by coordinating with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership. β€’ Develop documentation such as requirements, system/data flow diagrams, analysis summaries, and recommendations. β€’ Utilize advanced reporting and visualization tools to produce intuitive, meaningful analytic outputs. β€’ Contribute to the development of strategic materials, including gap analyses, roadmaps, test cases, and design documents. Required Qualifications β€’ 8+ years of experience researching, gathering, assembling, correlating, and analyzing complex data to support problem-solving and reporting. β€’ 8+ years of experience transforming data into actionable insights and developing reports that identify gaps in technology and operational effectiveness. β€’ 8+ years of experience developing β€œas-is” and β€œto-be” data models to support operational efficiency improvements. β€’ 8+ years of experience mapping data flows, identifying improvement opportunities, and establishing benchmarks for trend analysis and performance measurement. β€’ 8+ years of experience analyzing data-related policies and evaluating their impact on system functions and operational areas. β€’ 8+ years of experience acquiring data from multiple sources, building reports, conducting deep trend analysis, and defining reporting logic and metadata. β€’ 8+ years of hands-on experience using reporting tools, dashboards, and data visualization software to create professional analytic deliverables. Preferred Qualifications β€’ 5+ years of experience developing advanced reports, dashboards, and visualizations using modern BI or analytics tools. β€’ 5+ years of experience developing SDLC-related artifacts such as requirements, design documents, gap analyses, system/data diagrams, test cases, and use cases. β€’ Experience working in State or Federal public sector environments.
