Job role: Sr. Data Analyst
Location: Frisco, TX - Onsite
Duration: 6 months+
Job Description:
• The Data Analyst II will support data initiatives through the delivery of performing data mining and analysis.
• Ensure data sourced for reports, and dashboards they deliver are from quality data sources while also supporting data preparation requirements for data office.
• The analyst should be able to work with limited requirements to create meaningful data summaries in Excel, craft basic PowerPoint presentations, and provide insightful commentary on data trends and analysis results.
• Financial services experience is preferred for this role.
Position Responsibilities:
• Delivery Excellence.
• Gather requirements, perform detailed analysis including coordination and reconciliation of large datasets, write JIRA user stories, and coordinate user acceptance testing for standardization and automation of the data reconciliation processes.
• Work with limited requirements to generate reports and provide actionable insights.
• Liaise with business teams and technology to agree requirements
• Data Mining & Analysis: Extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets using SQL, Python, to identify trends and insights.
• Quality Control: Ensure data accuracy and integrity in reports and dashboards.
• Support Lead Analysts and Information Architects by provisioning data from non-standard sources as needed.
• With supervision, support business insight delivery on internal consulting projects of moderate complexity.
• Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Ensure thorough testing and validation of all deliverables to maintain high standards of quality.
• Communication.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with business users and technology staff.
Position Qualifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Math, or other relevant technology degrees or High School diploma or GED and 8 years of progressively responsible experience.
• 4 years of Technology experience and proficiency.
• 3 years of data visualization techniques experience (Power BI).
• 3 years of experience documenting and assisting product owners with creating system/business requirements
• 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office and expanded product lines (Visio, MS Project, SharePoint).
• 2 years of experience in banking or related industries.
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write sophisticated queriers across large, complex data sets.
• Ability to analyze data trends, identify patterns and proactively address potential data quality issues.
• Extensive experience in Regulatory Reporting and the Financial Services industry is a plus.
