Job Role- Sr Data Engineer
Remote(MUST live in PST time zone. Anywhere in PST, including Hawaii, CA, Oregon, Washington, Seatle, etc.)

Must Haves:
· 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering with strong ownership of production data platforms and pipelines.
· MUST HAVE hands-on experience with Google BigQuery for data warehousing, modeling, optimization, and analytics.
· Strong experience using dbt to build, maintain, and scale data transformation frameworks.
· Expert-level SQL skills and deep understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and warehouse design.
· Experience building and maintaining ELT/ETL pipelines using tools such as Fivetran or similar ingestion platforms.
· Experience supporting finance, revenue, accounting, or operational reporting workflows.
· Strong understanding of data quality, testing, validation, monitoring, and platform reliability best practices.
· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex data issues and improve data accuracy across multiple systems.
· Ability to operate independently in a highly autonomous environment while coordinating with globally distributed teams.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Plusses:
· Experience working with customer segmentation, support tiering, or operational analytics initiatives.
· Experience supporting data platforms across multiple products or business units.
· Familiarity with analytics and BI tools such as GoodData, Metabase, or similar reporting platforms.

Day-to-Day:
Our client is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join a growing data team supporting analytics, reporting, and business operations across multiple products and business units. This engineer will serve as a key partner between stakeholders, accounting teams, and engineering leadership while helping scale and mature the organization's data platform. These booking technology platforms serve the global tours, activities, and experiences industry across 100 countries – from local providers to international leaders.
On a daily basis, this engineer will work with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, build and optimize data models in BigQuery using dbt, and improve the end-to-end flow of data from source systems into the company's data warehouse and reporting tools. They will help create automated solutions for revenue calculations, transaction reporting, and accounting processes that are currently dependent on manual intervention and spreadsheet-based workflows. This person will also play a highly consultative role, partnering closely with business teams to identify data gaps, improve data governance, and ensure reporting outputs can be trusted for operational and strategic decision-making. They should be comfortable operating independently, influencing technical direction, and serving as a bridge between globally distributed teams while remaining deeply involved in the technical implementation. The ideal candidate is a hands-on Staff-level Data Engineer who enjoys solving ambiguous business problems, working directly with stakeholders, and building scalable solutions that have immediate business impact.
Responsibilities:
