Role description
Role: Senior Data Engineer
Type: Long Term Contract
Location: On-site, Monday–Friday (U.S.)
About the Role
Insure Technology is engaged with one of it's key enterprise clients, a global FinTech company, to identify an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design and implement scalable, high-performance data architectures and pipelines that power data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this role, you’ll architect robust data solutions across cloud environments, transforming raw data into actionable insights through modern engineering frameworks and best practices.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers—to ensure data systems are secure, reliable, and optimized for analytics. This is a hands-on engineering position with significant influence over technical direction, architecture, and standards.
What You’ll Do
• Design and develop end-to-end data architectures and pipelines to support large-scale analytics and application use cases.
• Architect and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance data systems using modern tools and frameworks.
• Build and optimize data models and warehouse structures to enable seamless access and analysis.
• Implement data quality frameworks and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Collaborate with teams across engineering, product, and analytics to define requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
• Integrate real-time and batch data sources using streaming and ETL technologies.
• Enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, data flows, and system configurations.
What You’ll Bring
• 10+ years of experience in IT or software engineering roles.
• 6+ years of experience designing and building large-scale data systems or big data applications.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership capacity, including architecting and implementing enterprise-grade data solutions.
• Proven experience developing Data Lakes, Enterprise Data Warehouses, and analytics pipelines in Azure Cloud (or similar).
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or Java, with expertise in SQL and experience with distributed and NoSQL systems (e.g., Cassandra, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch).
• Hands-on experience with streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Apache Beam, Spark Streaming).
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, pipeline orchestration, and data lifecycle management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Nice to Have
• Experience with machine learning workflows or model deployment pipelines.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of data privacy, governance, and compliance best practices.
Additional Details
• This position requires on-site presence Monday through Friday.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
• This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity; agency or contract submissions will not be considered.
Would you like me to make it sound more enterprise-formal (for a corporate careers page) or more modern and tech-forward (for a startup-style posting or LinkedIn)?
