Location: Coventry ,UK ( Hybrid-3 days from office)
Contract Duration:6 Months

The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to enhance the organisationβs intelligence capability and drive data-led decision making. You will work on complex datasets, applying advanced analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning techniques to develop innovative data products and actionable insights.
Your Profile
Essential Skills & Experience
β’ 3β5+ years of hands-on experience in data science delivering business-critical solutions
β’ Strong understanding of data science methodologies such as CRISP-DM, MLOps, and Agile frameworks
β’ Proven ability to act as a subject matter expert in AI/ML within a business environment
Core Technical Skills
β’ Expert proficiency in Python and SQL, with strong software engineering practices (testing, modular design, CI/CD)
β’ Deep expertise in machine learning techniques including NLP, deep learning, time-series forecasting, and ensemble methods
β’ Experience building AI-driven chatbot or LLM-based solutions
β’ Strong experience with Azure ecosystem (Azure ML, Synapse) and containerisation tools like Docker and Kubernetes
β’ Advanced knowledge of statistical modelling, experimentation, and causal inference (e.g., A/B testing)
β’ Ability to communicate insights effectively using tools such as Microsoft Power BI
β’ Experience with model tracking and reproducibility tools such as MLflow
Desirable Skills
β’ Domain knowledge within the water or utilities sector
β’ Bachelorβs degree (minimum) in a STEM field; MSc or PhD preferred (e.g., Data Science, AI, Mathematics, Statistics)
β’ Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
β’ Experience leading projects and influencing decision-making
β’ Passion for mentoring and developing junior team members
β’ Interest in emerging technologies and continuous learning
