Senior Data Support Engineer (Azure / SQL / Power BI) β UK
About the Role
Weβre working with a leading organisation seeking a Senior Data Support Engineer to join their growing data team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality data insights, supporting data integration processes, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the business.
Youβll work across data analysis, reporting, and platform support, collaborating with stakeholders to turn complex data into meaningful and actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Perform in-depth data analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making
β’ Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven insights
β’ Design and develop reports, dashboards, and visualisations using tools such as Power BI or Tableau
β’ Support and maintain data pipelines and workflows within Azure environments
β’ Analyse and interpret trends, patterns, and anomalies in large datasets
β’ Develop and optimise SQL queries for performance and efficiency
β’ Contribute to the improvement of data collection, processing, and reporting frameworks
β’ Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across systems
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions aligned with business needs
β’ Provide guidance and support to junior team members where required
Required Skills & Experience
β’ Strong experience with SQL (query writing, optimisation, troubleshooting)
β’ Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks
β’ Experience building dashboards and reports using Power BI or Tableau
β’ Solid understanding of data modelling and data structures
β’ Experience working with ETL/ELT processes
β’ Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
β’ Ability to work with stakeholders and translate business requirements into data solutions
Desirable
β’ Experience working in cloud-based data environments (Azure preferred)
β’ Exposure to data governance and best practices
β’ Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
