ON-SITE INTERVIEWS ONLY!
This position is available for extensions.
Candidate MUST come ON-SITE Day 1 for Orientation and Equipment Pick up. The Client does not ship equipment.
This position primarily works with large, normalized Oracle transactional databases and is responsible for extracting, validating, analyzing, automating, and maintaining operational data.
This is not a traditional Business Intelligence or Dashboard Development position. Approximately 70β80% of the work involves writing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL directly against transactional databases. Candidates should have experience developing SQL from scratch rather than primarily working with data warehouses, semantic models, or pre-built Business Intelligence datasets.
The candidate must be able to independently analyze business requirements, determine the appropriate database tables and relationships needed to answer complex business questions, and develop SQL solutions from scratch without relying on pre-built analytical tables, semantic models, visual query builders, or AI-generated SQL.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
β Develop, maintain, and optimize complex Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programs.
βWrite simple and complex SQL queries from scratch against normalized Oracle transactional databases.
βAnalyze business requirements and determine the appropriate tables, relationships, joins, and business rules needed to answer complex business questions.
βExtract, validate, transform, and analyze operational data for reporting, research, grants, and executive requests.
β Develop and maintain automated SQL processes, scheduled database jobs, and recurring data refreshes.
β Troubleshoot SQL scripts, automated jobs, and data quality issues.
β Create efficient, reusable, and well-documented SQL code.
β Support recurring operational reports, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), legislative reporting, and research initiatives.
β Collaborate with business users to understand reporting needs and communicate analytical findings.
β Support Tableau dashboards and other data visualization initiatives as needed.
