Role description
Key Responsibilities
β’ Analyze retail business data with a focus on soft line retail (e.g., apparel/shirts) to inform key performance indicators (KPIs) and business decisions.
β’ Utilize intermediate to advanced SQL skills to extract, join, and transform large datasets from cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
β’ Support both theme park and e-commerce retail operations through data exploration, analytics, and reporting.
β’ Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau or similar data visualization tools for self-service analytics and business storytelling.
β’ Conduct deep-dive analyses on retail performance, including pricing, promotions, customer behavior, inventory health, and product lifecycle metrics.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams (merchandising, planning, marketing, finance, technology) to translate business requirements into actionable analytics solutions.
β’ Prepare data and perform light modeling to support advanced analytics or data science projects, including validating model outputs.
β’ Communicate analytical findings and business recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making through actionable business insights.
β’ Assist in data preparation and automation initiatives for improved analytics workflow and business operations.
Required Skills & Experience
β’ 3+ years analytical experience in retail, ideally with a blend of retail and analytics (retail expertise is key).
β’ 3+ years hands-on SQL experience (data discovery, understanding storage, data retrieval, writing robust queries).
β’ 3+ years retail industry experience, with strong understanding of retail KPIs and operations.
β’ Experience with retail inventory systems, POS data, and product lifecycle metrics.
β’ Strong business acumen and ability to bridge business and technical requirements.
Preferred/Bonus Skills
β’ Experience with Tableau or other dashboard/data visualization tools.
β’ Pricing analytics experience (majority of role focus).
β’ Familiarity with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
β’ Coding proficiency in Python (e.g., pandas, NumPy, matplotlib) for analytics.
β’ Business Intelligence and A/B testing/statistical analysis background.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Mathematics, Economics, Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or related field.
