Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Engineer to join our hybrid team in Columbus, OH. This is a technical hands-on role with an expectation to understand both the functional and architectural aspects of SAP solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep SAP expertise, a strong foundation in code review and developer coaching, and experience integrating SAP with Salesforce Field Service within an enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Review ABAP code and provide technical guidance to developers.
β’ Design and support scalable SAP architecture solutions, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards.
β’ Collaborate with architects and IT teams to align SAP and Salesforce Field Service integrations.
β’ Support work and asset management processes within SAP S/4HANA on SAP Rise.
β’ Maintain and optimize inventory of IT assets, configurations, and technical dependencies.
β’ Ensure alignment of solutions with architectural direction, standards, and reference models.
β’ Develop and review design artifacts and update product standards/versioning as needed.
β’ Implement strategies to consolidate and protect enterprise IT assets.
β’ Drive technology portfolio management discipline and implement technology roadmap initiatives.
β’ Apply and enforce best practices, governance, and industry standards.
β’ Identify, assess, and manage technical risks.
β’ Communicate effectively with architects, developers, and project/program managers.
β’ Provide recommendations to inform technology roadmap and modernization efforts.
Required Qualifications
β’ 7+ years of experience as an SAP Engineer.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
β’ At least 1 year of experience in project management or technical leadership.
β’ Proven ability to operate effectively in an outsourced or hybrid IT environment.
β’ Strong background in both legacy and modern computing architectures.
β’ Experience managing technology costs and optimizing SAP environments.
β’ Expertise across key SAP modules: PM, MM, FI/CO, and GRC.
β’ Ability to review ABAP code and coach developers effectively.
β’ Functional understanding of SAP S/4HANA on SAP Rise, with focus on Work and Asset Management.
β’ Awareness of Salesforce Field Service and its integration with SAP landscapes.
Nice to Have
β’ Broader IT architecture knowledge (APIs, middleware, cloud platforms, and databases).
β’ Experience with large-scale enterprise transformations or modernization initiatives.
β’ Exposure to cost optimization in enterprise SAP deployments.
β’ Familiarity with Salesforce Field Service from an integration or technical architecture perspective.
