Sr Technical Analyst/Data Architect (Hybrid)

The Senior Technical Analyst / Data Architect is responsible for the technical modeling, systems analysis, and data mapping required for the modernization of DESE’s School Finance Payment System. This role provides the technical foundation for future state architecture, data flows, entity structures, calculations, and system dependencies. Responsibilities: Create current- and future-state Architecture Diagrams, ERDs, Data Flow Diagrams, and Dependency Graphs using Microsoft Visio. Map all data elements used in School Finance calculations from source systems through to the current system tables/fields. Document all data fields and system components involved in each funding formula and Special Case Calculation. Analyze 35+ existing requirements documents and update or create new documentation as needed. Support interpretation of complex formulas, statutory rules, and multi-system dependencies. Document system interfaces, integration points, and technical requirements. Collaborate with the SQL/Reporting Analyst to validate data flows, stored procedures, and reporting definitions. Assist with the preparation of Proposed Solution Options and technology stack recommendations. Requirements: 5+ years of experience in systems analysis and technical documentation. 5+ years of data mapping and data architecture experience. 3+ years of experience with SQL Server 2019. Strong understanding of entity relationships, integration patterns, and data flows. Ability to translate business rules into system logic and technical models. Experience with Visio, ADO, and structured analysis methods. Job Type: Contract Expected hours: 40 per week Work Location: Hybrid remote in Jefferson City, MO 65101
