Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) Position Status: Contract Pay Rate: $70/hr Position Description: We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a leading Fortune 500 utilities organization in New York, NY. This hybrid role plays a key part in advancing clean energy and sustainability initiatives, bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams. The ideal candidate combines analytical expertise, communication excellence, and a passion for solving complex business challenges through technology-driven solutions. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will drive the development and optimization of digital tools and reporting systems that align with regulatory compliance and public service commission standards. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into actionable insights and ensure the successful delivery of scalable, high-impact software solutions. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of software and program enhancements. Facilitate workshops to gather and refine user requirements, translating business needs into detailed technical specifications. Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and QA teams throughout the full Agile development lifecycle. Create and maintain comprehensive business documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows. Support Agile sprint planning by organizing and prioritizing user stories. Develop and execute test plans, write test scripts, and manage defect tracking to ensure quality deliverables. Conduct user research, journey mapping, wireframing, and usability testing to guide solution design. Analyze complex system and process issues using critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to maintain alignment, transparency, and continuous improvement. Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance business and technical performance. Required Skills/Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in technology-driven or data-centric environments. Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum frameworks using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels. Demonstrated expertise in business process documentation, workflow design, and requirements gathering. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate business goals into actionable technical solutions. Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to fast-paced, evolving business environments. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting clean energy, sustainability, or utilities projects. Familiarity with regulatory reporting and compliance requirements. Strong understanding of data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
