Agility Partners is seeking a qualified Strategic Analyst to fill an open position with one of our clients in the energy industry. This is an exciting opportunity to support long-term forecasting and strategic planning initiatives that help shape the future of the electric grid. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical, research, and data interpretation skills to deliver meaningful insights that influence executive decision-making, regulatory planning, and regional energy strategy.
A Little About This Gig
β’ Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to analyze load growth, distributed energy resources (DERs), emerging technologies, and evolving energy market trends.
β’ Develop and validate forecasting inputs by analyzing utility resource plans, generation additions and retirements, weather models, and other industry data sources.
β’ Create analytical reports, presentations, dashboards, and executive-ready materials that communicate complex findings to technical and business stakeholders.
β’ Partner with cross-functional teams to improve forecasting automation, support strategic planning initiatives, and contribute to regulatory and stakeholder engagement efforts.
The Ideal Candidate
β’ Bachelorβs degree or higher in Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Public Policy, Business, or a related field.
β’ Strong experience performing quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis, and forecasting in complex business or technical environments.
β’ Experience developing forecasting models, validating assumptions, and supporting scenario-based planning or long-range strategic initiatives.
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable business insights.
β’ Experience with energy markets, utility forecasting, integrated resource planning (IRPs), distributed energy resources (DERs), data centers, or wholesale electricity markets is highly desirable.
