The ideal candidate possesses technical expertise in manual and automated testing, bug tracking, and the software development life cycle (SDLC), with a passion for mentoring entry-level talent and translating testing methodologies into engaging, accessible learning experiences. This role involves collaborating with instructional designers, content developers, and technical teams to create compelling course materials, assessments, and hands-on testing labs, ensuring all content is technically accurate and industry-aligned. Responsibilities: β€’ Discovery & Validation: Review and validate existing Job Task Analysis (JTA) documents to ensure alignment between course content, entry-level QA industry requirements, and career outcomes. Assess and validate Coursera’s In-Demand Topic (IDT) framework for Junior QA/Software Tester titles to ensure focus on critical testing fundamentals. Critically review and validate Coursera-created Content Outlines, ensuring cohesion and relevance to learning objectives. β€’ Content Development & AI Validation: Evaluate AI-generated content, including reading materials, talking head lecture scripts, and screencasts for technical accuracy in testing procedures. Enhance course materials by adding relevant anecdotes and real-world examples (e.g., famous bug catches, edge-case scenarios) to engage learners effectively. Review and validate content for "add-on" modules, including supplementary instruction, practice activities, or career resource materials like "Day-in-the-Life" videos, career path overviews, and AI literacy modules. Support the creation of slide decks and demonstration videos for any software as needed β€’ Multimedia & Instructional Production: Capture screencast videos as required for instructional purposes, such as demonstrating bug reporting in Jira or writing basic test scripts. Create datasets and buggy code environments for practical activities and labs to ensure learners have hands-on opportunities to practice identification and documentation. β€’ Assessment Design: Develop formative and summative assessments, including quizzes, exams, and AI-graded hands-on assignments, ensuring alignment with Bloom’s Taxonomy. Review formative assessment items for accuracy, currency, alignment with learning objectives, and consistency with course instructional content. Develop practical scenarios. Develop hands-on learning/practice activities, as well as lab activities (if required), along with the required data set and documentation, using the appropriate templates. β€’ Capstone Integration: Contribute to the design and validation of Capstone projects that synthesize the program's learning objectives. β€’ Quality Assurance: Review demo video scripts and storyboards β€’ Feedback Integration: Support the implementation of client and stakeholder feedback to ensure content accuracy. Qualifications: β€’ Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). β€’ Certifications: Professional certifications such as ISTQB Foundation Level (CTFL) or Certified Software Tester (CSTE) are highly preferred. β€’ Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Manual Testing (Black box, White box, Regression, and Smoke testing). Familiarity with Automation Testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright) and bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla). Solid grasp of the SDLC and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle) within Agile/Scrum environments. β€’ Essential Skills: Attention to detail to produce error-free technical content regarding tax and deductions. Previous experience in training or educational roles is a plus. Experienced in writing instructional materials and online course development. Course Development Skills: β€’ Proven experience writing instructional materials and developing online course content. β€’ Ability to review and edit AI-generated technical content for accuracy and flow. β€’ Experience with screencasting software and creating technical datasets/environments for labs. β€’ Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and instructional design frameworks like "backward design." β€’ Proficiency in Google Suite for collaborative document review and feedback.
