Supply Chain Planner (Contract)
Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Supply Chain Planning Specialist to support production planning activities for long-lead equipment used in a global data center portfolio. This role works closely with production planners, suppliers, procurement teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure equipment demand signals are translated into accurate forecasts, supplier commitments, inventory strategies, and execution plans. The position supports planning activities across electrical and mechanical infrastructure categories, including skidded solutions and other long-lead equipment supporting data center construction. The ideal candidate is curious, self-motivated, takes initiative, and embraces learning opportunities — including the use of AI and automation tools to drive efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Job Responsibilities
• Attend vendor procurement and planning sync meetings and capture key actions and follow-up items
• Follow up with suppliers on production schedules, delivery commitments, and forecast alignment
• Support forecast maintenance, planning flag updates, and data cleansing activities
• Coordinate and communicate skidding and OFCI schedule requirements to relevant stakeholders
• Assist with production planning activities across multiple long-lead equipment categories
• Evaluate inventory positions and support inventory utilization strategies
• Create and maintain ad hoc reports, dashboards, and portfolio summaries for leadership review
• Support development of reporting automations and AI-enabled planning tools
• Update portfolio review materials and leadership summary slides
• Review project schedules, supplier commitments, forecasts, and inventory positions to identify risks and support project delivery
• Track recovery plans and prepare status updates for stakeholders and leadership
• Ensure planning data accuracy and support continuous process improvement initiatives
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, production planning, procurement, logistics, operations, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience analyzing demand, supply, inventory, and project schedules to support planning decisions and identify delivery risks
• 5+ years of experience with data analysis and reporting using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools to support executive decision-making
• 5+ years of experience in project tracking and cross-functional coordination, including managing action items and preparing leadership presentations
• Experience with inventory analysis, forecasting processes, or supplier management preferred
• Experience in data center infrastructure planning or related capital equipment environments is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field required — candidates without a Bachelor's degree will not be considered
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, data validation, and complex formulas
• Experience with Power BI for data visualization, reporting, and executive dashboard development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to work with large datasets
• Ability to identify data quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Experience working with suppliers and managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce concise leadership-ready summaries
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort leveraging AI tools and automation to improve planning processes and reporting efficiency
• Experience maintaining project trackers, managing action items, and preparing status updates
