Tableau Architect

Job Title: Tableau Architect Duration: 12+ Months Location: Remote W2 Only (Tableau Advanced Management Implementation Exp.) Job Description Key Responsibilities Dashboard Performance Optimization • Analyze and optimize approximately five high-usage Tableau dashboards experiencing slow response times. • Perform performance engineering, including: • Data source optimization • Query performance tuning • Calculation optimization • Data model improvements • Ensure improvements go beyond simple extract conversions and address underlying performance issues. Tableau Advanced Management Implementation • Evaluate the organization’s existing Tableau Advanced Management licenses and demonstrate their value. • Configure and implement useful capabilities of Advanced Management, such as: • Resource monitoring • content migration tools • operational management features • Provide guidance on best practices for leveraging these capabilities. Deployment Automation (Test → Production) • Design and implement a process for automating the migration of Tableau workbooks from test to production environments. • Configure and utilize tools such as the Tableau Content Migration Tool where appropriate. • Establish repeatable processes to support ongoing workbook deployments. Tableau Server Content Rationalization • Identify unused or obsolete Tableau Server content. • Implement a process to: • detect unused workbooks and data sources • notify appropriate content owners • remove outdated content • Help reduce server storage utilization and prevent use of obsolete dashboards. User Access and Provisioning Review • Assess the current Tableau user provisioning and access management model. • Recommend improvements related to: • role-based access control • user group structure • onboarding/offboarding processes • governance and security practices. Data Source Optimization • Identify workbooks currently using embedded data sources. • Recommend opportunities to migrate these to published data sources to improve: • backgrounder queue performance • data reuse • governance. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer • Provide documentation covering: • performance optimization steps • platform configuration changes • governance processes implemented. • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions to enable the internal team to maintain and manage the improvements implemented. Required Skills & Experience • Strong experience with Tableau Server administration • Proven experience in Tableau dashboard performance tuning • Experience with Tableau Advanced Management • Knowledge of Tableau Content Migration Tool • Strong understanding of Tableau governance, security, and access management • Experience designing published data source strategies • Ability to troubleshoot query performance and data source design issues
