Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Tableau Developer with deep Oracle HCM Cloud expertise to support enterprise-level HR analytics and reporting initiatives. This 100% remote contract engagement is suited for Senior Developer (5 + years) with a proven track record delivering interactive dashboards, self-service reporting, and data visualization solutions within complex Oracle HCM Cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and publish advanced Tableau dashboards and reports sourcing data from Oracle HCM Cloud (Core HR focus).
• Connect Tableau to Oracle HCM data sources including OTBI subject areas, BI Publisher extracts, and direct database/API feeds.
• Translate HR business requirements into functional data visualizations covering workforce structures, headcount, attrition, employment lifecycle, and position management.
• Collaborate with HR functional teams and IT to define data models, hierarchies, and calculated fields in Tableau.
• Optimize Tableau workbook performance through extract design, data source architecture, and published data source governance.
• Support HCM data migration and conversion validation efforts through reconciliation dashboards and audit reporting.
• Participate in SIT/UAT cycles, ensuring Tableau outputs align with Oracle HCM configuration and functional specifications.
• Maintain version control, publishing standards, and content governance on Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud.
• Develop and document data definitions, metric logic, and dashboard user guides.
Required Qualifications
• 5 + years of experience in BI / data visualization with significant Tableau development responsibility.
• Deep hands-on experience with Oracle HCM Cloud – Core HR: workforce structures, person model, employment lifecycle, and position management.
• Proficiency connecting Tableau to Oracle HCM Cloud data via OTBI subject areas, HCM Extracts, and BI Publisher.
• Strong understanding of HCM Data Loader (HDL) data structures as they relate to reporting and validation.
• Experience building calculated fields, Level of Detail (LOD) expressions, and table calculations in Tableau.
• Ability to design intuitive, executive-ready dashboards that serve both HR leadership and operational end users.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational data modeling for custom data source development.
• Experience working in agile / iterative delivery environments with HR, IT, and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Salesforce Certified Tableau Data Analyst certification (strongly preferred).
• Oracle HCM Cloud Implementation certification or demonstrated equivalent implementation experience.
• Familiarity with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) as a data pipeline source into Tableau.
• Experience with additional Oracle HCM modules: Absence Management, Benefits, Talent Management, or Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC).
• Exposure to Tableau Prep for data shaping and ETL workflows.
• Experience on Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud administration – publishing, permissions, and extract scheduling.
