Tableau Expert

What You’ll Do • Serve as the Tableau SME, setting standards for dashboard design, performance, and data governance • Design, build, and optimize advanced Tableau dashboards and data sources for enterprise users • Lead data analysis and visualization efforts using Amazon Athena as a primary query engine • Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries in Athena for large-scale datasets • Use Python for data preparation, automation, validation, and advanced analytics workflows • Collaborate with data engineers to shape data models that support analytics and reporting needs • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and meaningful visual narratives • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance across analytics initiatives • Ensure data accuracy, performance, security, and scalability across all reporting solutions • Support executive-level reporting and ad-hoc analytical requests Required Experience & Skills • 8+ years of experience in data analytics, BI, or visualization roles • Deep expertise in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Cloud • Extensive hands-on experience with Amazon Athena, including performance tuning and cost-efficient querying • Strong SQL skills, especially for large, complex datasets • Advanced Python experience for data analysis, ETL support, scripting, and automation • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred) • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and analytics best practices • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders • Experience working in enterprise or government environments is a strong plus Preferred Qualifications • AWS experience beyond Athena (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda) • Familiarity with CI/CD practices for analytics and BI assets • Experience supporting executive dashboards and mission-critical reporting
