Tableau Infrastructure with (GCP) -- 100% Remote -- W2 Profile

Job Title: Senior Tableau Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer (GCP) Location: Remote Key Responsibilities Tableau Infrastructure Management • Design, build, and deploy Tableau Server instances from scratch (on-premises and cloud environments) • Manage and maintain existing Tableau environments with a focus on: • Performance tuning and optimization • Proactive monitoring and alerting • Backup and restore strategies • Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution • Security patching and vulnerability remediation • Lead infrastructure solutioning and architecture discussions for Tableau platform enhancements Cloud Engineering (GCP) • Design and implement cloud infrastructure using GCP services • Work with core cloud components such as: • Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) • Subnets and IP configurations • Load Balancers • Cloud Storage (GCS buckets) • Drive cloud cost optimization strategies • Collaborate on migration and modernization initiatives to move workloads to cloud Automation & Scripting • Develop and maintain automation scripts using: • Python • PowerShell • Utilize Tableau REST APIs for: • Automation of admin tasks • User and content management • Monitoring and reporting User Support & Engagement • Support a large and diverse user base (80k–90k users) • Handle user requests, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions • Conduct and lead meetings, including large-scale user sessions and stakeholder discussions • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users Required Skills & Qualifications Technical Skills • Strong experience in Tableau Server administration and infrastructure • Proven expertise in building Tableau environments from scratch • Hands-on experience with GCP (minimum 2+ years) • Solid understanding of: • Networking concepts (VPC, subnets, IP addressing) • Load balancing and high availability setups • Cloud storage and cost optimization • Experience with monitoring tools and performance tuning • Strong scripting experience (Python, PowerShell) Cloud & Infrastructure • Experience in hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud) • Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards Preferred Skills • 3+ years of experience working with Tableau REST APIs • Experience in automation and infrastructure-as-code practices • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines • Experience in platform modernization and innovation initiatives
