Role description
Role: Tandem Architect/Engineer Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ Duration: 6+ Months Minimum Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. β€’ Working knowledge of Tandem (NonStop) systems, including Line Handlers, Device Handlers, and system configurations. β€’ Experience supporting or working with Automated Teller Machines (ATM) or terminal-based environments. β€’ Ability to triage and resolve issues using hardware and software systems on which terminal environments are configured. β€’ Experience collaborating with clients, internal teams, and third‑party vendors to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues. β€’ Strong written and verbal communication skills. Responsibilities β€’ Provide production support and issue triage for ATM and terminal-based systems running on Tandem platforms. β€’ Configure, maintain, and develop new Tandem system configurations to support evolving ATM and logical unit (LU) requirements. β€’ Document ATM environments, configurations, and operational procedures to support a new production environment. β€’ Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting scripts to track the health of production systems using tools such as Splunk, Moogsoft, and ExtraHop. β€’ Analyze alerts and escalations to troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. β€’ Follow established processes and techniques to ensure system reliability, stability, and compliance with operational standards. β€’ Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, vendors, and business partners to support system enhancements and issue resolution. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience working within or transitioning teams to an Agile framework. β€’ Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and ExtraHop. β€’ Knowledge of ITIL-based production support best practices. β€’ Familiarity with common networking concepts and practices. β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgment to identify issues and recommend effective solutions. β€’ Prior experience or strong domain knowledge in ATM systems is a plus.
