Role description
Duration: 2+ Months
Location: MO-Maryland Heights, Hybrid 3-4 days onsite
Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services Turnberry offers to clients. As a Tech Lead - Java/Springboot, you will join Turnberry's Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.
Responsibilities
• Technical Leadership:
• Serve as the primary technical authority for Java-based applications and services
• Establish and enforce best practices for software development, coding standards, testing, and CI/CD
• Guide design decisions, architecture reviews, and code reviews to ensure technical quality
• Hands-on Development:
• Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications, APIs, and microservices
• Write clean, scalable, and secure code aligned with company technology standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Collaboration and Mentorship:
• Partner with product managers, architects, and DevOps teams to align technical strategy with business goals
• Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical roadmap sessions
• Process and Quality Assurance:
• Drive adoption of automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment best practices
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and compliance guidelines
Qualifications
• Expert-level proficiency in Java (8+), Spring Boot, and RESTful API design
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud-native applications
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions) and automated testing frameworks
• Working knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and caching technologies (Redis)
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $170,000 or the hourly equivalent.
