Role description
We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst for a government-sponsored financial institution. The Technical Business Analyst is responsible for aligning high-quality technical solutions with key business strategies and identifying opportunities to solve complex business problems. The role partners closely with business and IT teams across the organization to assess functionality, costs, benefits, and process improvements of system technologies. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, experience translating business needs into system requirements, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple business units. Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate with cross-functional business and IT teams to design and implement business and system processes. • Lead analysis sessions to capture, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements. • Translate business requirements into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria. • Partner with architecture and development teams to ensure that technical solutions meet business needs. • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate technical solutions and support decision-making. • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a centralized knowledge repository for business analysis practices. Skills & Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). • Business analysis certification from IIBA or an equivalent accredited program strongly preferred. • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in business analysis and planning within a large, regulated financial services organization, preferably in a capital markets or banking environment. • Minimum of five years of experience with both vendor-packaged system implementations and custom-developed solutions, including involvement in development, project management, testing, or quality assurance. • Strong familiarity with all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and development methodologies such as SAFe™ Scaled Agile or Scrum (strongly preferred). • Broad exposure to multiple business process areas or experience working across multiple business units. • Proficiency in industry-standard analysis and requirements elicitation techniques, with strong business and IT fluency. • Experience managing requirements, including facilitating traceability through user acceptance testing cycles. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Visio, Confluence, and JIRA preferred. SQL proficiency desired.
