Role description
Job Summary The Technical Business Analyst will serve as the core functional resource for the Canonical PNR Working Group, translating complex business definitions into structured specifications. Responsible for documenting ticket lifecycle event taxonomies, customer classifications, and derived field logic, this role ensures all working group decisions are accurately captured for implementation by IT. The candidate will facilitate alignment between business logic (MAP) and enterprise definitions (EDW) while maintaining clean decision logs and spec documentation. location: Washington, Washington, D.C. job type: Contract salary: $55 - 65 per hour work hours: 9am to 5pm education: Bachelors Responsibilities Attend Canonical PNR Working Group sessions and publish comprehensive meeting notes, decision logs, and action items within 3 business days. Draft and maintain canonical field specification documents covering PNR, customer, and passenger segment tables as working group decisions occur. Document business rule decisions-including lifecycle stage definitions, derived field logic, and ticket event taxonomy-in formats ready for engineering handoff. Support variance analysis between legacy MAP business logic and EDW ticket lifecycle definitions. Maintain an active decision log tracking open items, finalized business rules, and underlying rationale. Qualifications 4+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Governance Specialist. Proven experience in data mapping, field specification drafting, and business rule documentation. Prior experience working with booking, reservation, ticketing, or PNR (Passenger Name Record) data models. Excellent working group facilitation skills and the ability to synthesize technical/business discussions into structured documents. Detail-oriented mindset with demonstrated expertise in gap analysis and decision logging.
