Role description
Business Analyst - Collections Platform / Tech Integration (Contract) Location: Hybrid (UK-based) with occasional travel to Yorkshire Contract Type: Day Rate Contract Start: Immediate Overview A leading UK financial services organisation is seeking a technically strong Business Analyst to support the end-to-end implementation of a new Collections platform (Flexys). This role is heavily focused on data flows, system integration, configuration, and user story development, acting as the bridge between Collections Operations, Risk & Compliance, and Technology. The successful candidate will be comfortable translating operational collections requirements and regulatory obligations (including Consumer Duty) into detailed technical specifications to support platform build, integration, and deployment. This is an immediate start role requiring hands-on delivery capability within a fast-paced implementation environment. Key Responsibilities • Act as the lead BA supporting Flexys implementation, configuration, and integration across internal and third-party systems. • Analyse and document end-to-end data flows between source systems (core banking, CRM, payments, credit reference agencies) and the collections platform. • Capture and define technical requirements, including API integrations, data mapping, field-level specifications, triggers, workflows, and decisioning logic. • Translate business requirements into structured user stories with clear acceptance criteria (BDD/Gherkin where appropriate). • Define and document system interfaces, integration points, and batch/real-time data exchanges. • Map and optimise collections customer journeys across arrears, forbearance, vulnerability handling, and escalation workflows. • Conduct gap analysis between existing collections tooling and future-state Flexys configuration. • Support system configuration workshops and ensure alignment between operational requirements and platform capabilities. • Collaborate closely with Technology, Architecture, and Engineering teams to ensure requirements are technically feasible and clearly understood. • Produce and maintain detailed documentation including: • Technical requirement specifications • Data mapping and integration documentation • API/interface requirements • Process workflows (As-Is / To-Be) • Impact assessments and dependency logs • Support SIT, UAT, and post-implementation validation, ensuring data integrity and workflow accuracy. • Identify data quality risks, control gaps, and compliance considerations within system design. Required Experience • Proven Business Analyst experience in technology-led change programmes. • Hands-on experience implementing or configuring Flexys or other enterprise Collections platforms highly desirable. • Strong experience in data mapping, integration requirements, API specifications, and system workflow configuration. • Ability to write detailed user stories, technical documentation, and structured acceptance criteria. • Experience working on collections, arrears, recoveries, or remediation programmes within financial services. • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements impacting collections (FCA, Consumer Duty). • Experience supporting Agile delivery, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and UAT cycles. • Ability to operate at pace, working across business and technical stakeholders.
