TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST(Veeva Vault)
Location: Remote | Type: Contract
About Newpage Solutions
Newpage Solutions is a global digital health innovation company helping people live longer, healthier lives. We partner with life sciences organizations—including pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare leaders—to build transformative AI and data-driven technologies addressing real-world health challenges.
From strategy and research to UX design and agile development, we deliver and validate impactful solutions using lean, human-centered practices.
We are proud to be Great Place to Work® certified for three consecutive years, hold a top Glassdoor rating, and were named among the "Top 50 Most Promising Healthcare Solution Providers" by CIO Review.
As a remote-first company, we foster creativity, continuous learning, and inclusivity, creating an environment where bold ideas thrive and make a measurable difference in people’s lives.
Newpage looks for candidates who are invested in long-term impact. Applications with a pattern of frequent job changes may not align with the values we prioritize.
Your Mission
The Technical Business Analyst (TBA) is a critical bridge between our business stakeholders and the Marketing Technology delivery team. This role must be able to analyze the existing Veeva vault PromoMats configuration and drive requirement gathering sessions in the context and constraints of the capabilities. This role combines deep analytical skills with technical acumen to ensure business needs are clearly understood, documented, and translated into well-defined user stories and actionable requirements. The TBA is expected to confidently engage directly with business counterparts — leading conversations, challenging assumptions, and driving alignment — while also partnering closely with developers, QA, and platform teams to ensure successful delivery
What You’ll Do
• Business Acumen: Understands the "why" behind business requests and can connect technical solutions to business outcomes
• Stakeholder Confidence: Comfortable leading conversations with senior business leaders; pushes back constructively when needed
• Technical Fluency: Bridges the gap between business language and technical implementation without being a developer
• Jira Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Jira for story writing, backlog management, and sprint tracking
• Analytical Rigor: Breaks down complex problems, identifies edge cases, and ensures nothing falls through the cracks
• Communication: Clear, structured, executive-ready communication — both written and verbal
• Adaptability: Thrives in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and multiple concurrent workstreams
Business Engagement & Stakeholder Partnership
• Face off directly with business counterparts to elicit, challenge, and refine requirements — acting as a trusted advisor, not just a note-taker.
• Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and sprint reviews with business stakeholders to ensure continuous alignment.
• Translate ambiguous business asks into structured, clearly scoped deliverables.
• Build strong working relationships with cross-functional partners including Commercial Product, CQ, and Medical teams.
User Story Development & Backlog Management
• Author clear, well-structured user stories in Jira with detailed acceptance criteria, business context, and dependencies.
• Maintain and groom the product backlog in collaboration with MarTech Delivery lead, Product Owner and Scrum Master.
• Ensure stories are appropriately sized, prioritized, and sprint-ready through regular refinement sessions.
• Create and maintain epics, features, and story hierarchies in Jira to ensure traceability from business need to delivery.
• Define and document Definition of Ready (DoR) and Definition of Done (DoD) for user stories.
Technical Analysis & Solution Design
• Analyze existing systems, data flows, and integrations to identify technical impacts of proposed changes.
• Partner with architects and developers to evaluate solution options and document functional and technical specifications.
• Understand system architectures, APIs, data models, and integration patterns well enough to facilitate productive technical conversations.
• Support gap analysis between current-state processes and future-state platform capabilities.
• Assist in defining non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability, compliance)
Agile Delivery & Collaboration
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with QA teams to define test scenarios and validate that delivered solutions meet acceptance criteria.
• Track and communicate risks, blockers, and dependencies to the broader delivery team and stakeholders.
• Support UAT coordination, including test script development and defect triage.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
• Produce clear, concise documentation including:
• Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
• Process flow diagrams (current-state and future-state) o Decision logs and RACI matrices
• Data mapping and integration specifications
• Maintain a well-organized Jira project and Confluence knowledge base for assigned workstreams.
What You Bring
• Veeva Vault experience (PromoMats, MedComms, QualityDocs) is a significant plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst in an enterprise IT environment.
• Proven ability to engage directly with business stakeholders at all levels — confidently facilitating discussions, managing expectations, and driving decisions.
• Strong hands-on experience with Jira — writing user stories, managing backlogs, creating epics/features, and using Jira workflows.
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Technical fluency — comfortable discussing APIs, system integrations, data models, and platform configurations with development teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with Confluence or similar documentation/collaboration tools.
• Good to have Experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, with familiarity in content management, MLR review, or regulatory compliance processes.
• Familiarity with adjacent platforms such as Workfront, AEM, Adobe Experience Manager, Salesforce, or DAM solutions.
• Good to have Experience with content supply chain or omnichannel marketing technology ecosystems.
• Knowledge of validated system environments (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, CSV).
• Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSM, or SAFe are a plus.
• Good to have Experience supporting AI/GenAI-driven tools or automation within enterprise platforms.
