Role description
Leading Entertainment client now requires a Tech Lead to drive the evolution of their consumer-facing platforms.
This role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic oversight, focused on modernising systems and delivering seamless, scalable digital experiences to millions of users.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and execute the technology strategy for consumer services.
• Lead architecture decisions, transitioning to cloud-native and microservices-based systems.
• Drive large-scale transformation programmes to improve performance, scalability, and customer experience.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams, promoting best practices across development, DevOps, and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Key Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Tech Lead, Principal Engineer, or similar strategic leadership role within consumer-facing digital products.
• Strong expertise in modern software architecture, including microservices, APIs, and event-driven/distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including designing and operating scalable services.
• Deep understanding of engineering best practices (CI/CD, automated testing, observability, security, and performance optimisation).
• Experience leading or contributing to large-scale digital or platform transformation programmes.
• Strong knowledge of web and/or mobile technologies within a high volume service organisation.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical problem-solving.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
This is a 12-month contract role which provides a daily rate of £700 (Outside IR35).
In terms of working structure, this is hybrid with 4 days per week in their West London office and 1 day remote.
