Role description
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead with deep expertise in Python, AWS services, and experience with data capture, transmissions, and FTP-based workflows. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer who thrives in leading technical projects, building robust cloud solutions, and mentoring a team of developers. This position is available as a contract-to-hire or long-term contract opportunity, offering flexibility and the potential for long-term engagement. Key Responsibilities β€’ Lead the design, development, and implementation of backend systems using Python and AWS. β€’ Build and manage data ingestion pipelines, including FTP-based data transmissions and capture mechanisms. β€’ Ensure the reliability and efficiency of file transmission systems and other ETL workflows. β€’ Architect scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud applications. β€’ Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. β€’ Guide and mentor engineering team members in code quality, architecture, and development practices. β€’ Implement and maintain infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools. β€’ Proactively monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements. Required Qualifications β€’ 6+ years of professional experience in software development. β€’ 3+ years of technical leadership experience. β€’ Expert-level proficiency in Python and its frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django). β€’ Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including: β€’ EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, IAM, API Gateway β€’ Solid experience with FTP protocols, file-based data transmissions, and data capture workflows. β€’ Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting systems. β€’ Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud orchestration (ECS, EKS). β€’ Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation). β€’ Strong communication and team leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience in event-driven or serverless architectures. β€’ Background in working with sensitive or regulated data. β€’ AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer). β€’ Experience in a DevOps or full-stack environment. β€’ Knowledge of scripting or tools to automate data ingestion and transformation processes. Contract Details β€’ Type: Contract-to-Hire or Long-Term Contractor β€’ Duration: 6-12 months with potential for conversion to full-time β€’ Remote Flexibility: NO- 5 days in office M-F β€’ Start Date: ASAP
