Telecom Business Analyst

Role: Telecom Business Analyst Location: Charlotte, NC/Stamford, CT Type: Contract We are seeking a detail‑oriented Business Analyst with strong SQL expertise to transform data into actionable insights that support business decision‑making. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather requirements, analyze large datasets, and deliver high‑impact analytical solutions. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements • Translate business needs into functional and data requirements • Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from relational databases • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root‑cause analysis • Build dashboards, reports, and insights to track KPIs and business performance • Support data‑driven decision making through ad‑hoc analysis and structured reporting • Work closely with engineering and data teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency • Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) • Create clear documentation including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process flows • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation Required Skills & Qualifications Core Skills • Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, performance optimization) • Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) • Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and stakeholder management • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills • Ability to translate data insights into business recommendations Technical & Analytical Skills • Experience working with large datasets • Data validation and quality analysis • Experience with at least one BI/reporting tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.) • Understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines (preferred) Process & Methodology • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments • Writing user stories with clear acceptance criteria • Familiarity with SDLC and product development lifecycle Soft Skills • Strong communication and presentation skills • Ability to work cross‑functionally with technical and non‑technical stakeholders • High attention to detail and data accuracy • Self‑driven with a continuous improvement mindset
