Test Data Engineer
Location: Phoenix, Arizona (Partial Remote)
Employment Type: Contract
Role Overview
The Test Data Engineer will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining test data for functional, regression, and performance testing. This role requires proficiency in Python scripting to automate test data generation and manipulation, as well as SQL expertise to prepare and validate manual test datasets. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, an analytical mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with QA engineers, developers, and business analysts.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Develop and maintain test data pipelines using Python scripting to support automated testing.
β’ Design, write, and execute SQL queries to prepare manual test datasets.
β’ Work closely with QA and development teams to understand test data requirements for various applications and test scenarios.
β’ Ensure test data is accurate, consistent, and follows data privacy and security standards.
β’ Implement data masking, anonymization, and synthetic data generation as required.
β’ Maintain documentation of test data processes, data sources, and test data scripts.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to test data availability or quality.
β’ Continuously improve test data strategies to support scalable and efficient testing.
Required Qualifications
β’ Strong experience in test data management across complex applications and environments.
β’ Python experience for scripting, automation, and test data management tasks.
β’ SQL proficiency for creating, executing, and validating test data.
β’ Experience working in lower environments (Dev, QA, Staging) to support testing efforts.
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
β’ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience working in Agile development environments is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with test data management tools or frameworks.
β’ Knowledge of data masking and anonymization techniques.
β’ Experience integrating test data automation into CI/CD pipelines.
Compensation & Benefits
The estimated pay rate for this position is $55.00/hr to $60.00/hr. The final rate will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
