Role Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Platform Test Engineer with deep expertise in infrastructure as code, cloud platform validation, and CI/CD automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, GitLab CI/CD, and core AWS services, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of cloud platform deployments.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute automated test frameworks to validate AWS infrastructure, platform services, and environment builds.
• Perform end to end testing of IaC deployments created using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Design, implement, and maintain test automation pipelines within GitLab CI/CD.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and performance testing for AWS platform components.
• Validate AWS architecture components such as EC2, VPC, IAM, Lambda, S3, ECS/EKS, RDS/DynamoDB.
• Perform infrastructure validation, including security controls, tagging standards, policies, and compliance frameworks.
• Collaborate with platform engineers, DevOps teams, and cloud architects to identify quality gaps and improve platform stability.
• Troubleshoot issues across AWS environments and provide root cause analysis.
• Maintain clear documentation on test scenarios, results, and environment configurations.
• Champion continuous improvement for platform reliability and test coverage.
Required Skills & Experience
• Strong expertise in AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
• Proven hands-on experience with:
• Terraform (modules, workspaces, state management)
• AWS CloudFormation
• GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• AWS CLI, CloudWatch, CloudTrail
• Solid understanding of DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
• Strong experience building test automation frameworks for cloud deployments.
• Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured, pytest).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools: CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus.
• Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Understanding of networking security, IAM policies, and AWS best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
• AWS certifications: AWS Certified Developer / SysOps Administrator / Solutions Architect.
• Experience with container platforms (Docker, EKS/ECS).
• Exposure to configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).
• Experience testing large-scale, distributed cloud systems.
• Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (CIS, NIST, ISO27001).
Soft Skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
