As part of the TM Academy, you’ll join one of our Translational Medicine departments, depending on your background and interests. This advert is for Biomarker Development (BMD). Duration of program: 24 months Program start: August 2026 Please note that we can only accept applicants who are eligible to work in the United States. The TM Academy is designed for individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences: • Career starters: recent university degree graduate within the past 2 years • Career changers: professionals with experience from a different field • Career re-launchers: professionals wanting to return to work after a career break Your journey begins with a basecamp: 4-week immersive blended experience designed to introduce you to our organization, the drug development process, the various departments in Translational Medicine, the clinical trial process and the tools and technical platforms needed for your work. Throughout the program, fellows reunite for continuous learning focused on soft skills, cross-functional exposure, and thematic introduction series - broadening your perspective beyond your immediate team and function. As TM Academy fellow in BMD, you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and contribute to a wide range of translational medicine activities that support clinical trials and research collaborations, with a particular focus on imaging data and analytics. During the TM Academy you will… • Build a strong foundation in translational medicine with guidance and mentorship from industry experts. • Participate in a progressive, blended and flexible learning program that integrates conceptual, theoretical, and experiential techniques. • Join a global network of supportive peers and mentors, collaborating on meaningful projects that help shape the future of medicine. • Gain hands-on experience contributing to and supporting activities across the clinical imaging lifecycle, including imaging data and analytics infrastructure, imaging data standardization, image ingestion, and image quality control (QC) and analysis strategy for clinical trials and research collaborations. • Add to your imaging skillset in areas such as AI-based automation of image QC procedures, analysis method development, and data standardization. • Broaden your professional horizon by doing a deep dive in different data modalities aligned with your interests and based on open opportunities, such as proteomics, transcriptomics, genetics, genomics, and/or digital. • Work expeditiously as a member of matrixed biomarker teams with diverse membership and expertise to deliver timely, high-quality data analyses. • Develop leadership and communication skills, with opportunities to teach and mentor new TM Academy fellows. Role Requirements • Minimum Education: Master's with similar academic emphasis • Imaging Data Infrastructure and Ingestion: Demonstrated interest or experience in the logistics and infrastructure required for large-scale imaging data ingestion, including managing multi-modality and multi-format image transfers, building and maintaining automated workflows to improve efficiency and reliability, supporting clinical trials and research operations, and enabling downstream access for quality control, organization, and analysis. • Image/Data Science Skills: Proficiency in image analysis and data science techniques, including but not limited to image segmentation, feature extraction, machine learning, and statistical analysis. • Programming Languages: Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Matlab or R, with experience in data manipulation, visualization, and analysis libraries (e.g., NumPy, pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn). • Imaging Software: Familiarity with imaging software packages (e.g., ImageJ, ITK-SNAP, 3D Slicer) and imaging data formats (DICOM, NIFTI). • Statistical Analysis: Knowledge of statistical methods and tools for analyzing large datasets, including hypothesis testing and regression analysis. • Communication and Collaboration: Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams; excellent organizational, interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills. • Bioinformatics experience is a plus, especially hands-on analysis of transcriptomics, proteomics, and/or metabolomics. If yes, what kind of analysis did you perform and how did you explain the results to non-technical stakeholders? Location: Cambridge, MA (Onsite) Required to be in-person 5 days/week the first 4-6 weeks of the program. After that, will be hybrid up to 3 days/week based on business needs and projects occurring. Candidate must be flexible with hybrid days required.
