This role involves hands-on work with vendor surveillance platforms, complex trading data, and the engineering of scalable ETL and data transformation solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Python, Java, and surveillance system implementation, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Key Responsibilities Lead the implementation, configuration, and enhancement of trade surveillance platforms to meet regulatory and business requirements. Integrate vendor surveillance systems with internal trading, order management, and reference data environments. Design and build robust ETL pipelines to process high-volume securities and commodities trading datasets. Develop data transformation logic to support alerts, analytics, and model tuning. Collaborate closely with compliance, technology, and business stakeholders to translate surveillance needs into technical solutions. Troubleshoot data quality issues, integration challenges, and performance bottlenecks across the surveillance ecosystem. Develop high-quality, scalable code and tools using Python and Java, following established engineering standards. Support the full lifecycle of surveillance enhancements, including requirements, development, testing, deployment, and validation. Requirements 6-9 years of experience in capital markets technology with exposure to securities and commodities trading data. Hands-on experience with trade surveillance platforms such as NICE Actimize, Nasdaq Smarts, or Trading Hub. Strong understanding of trading and order lifecycle data, including market, execution, and transaction flows. Proven expertise in ETL development, data engineering, and large-scale data transformation. Proficiency in Python and Java for system integration and workflow development. Experience configuring or implementing surveillance models, rules, or alerting logic. Ability to work effectively within a fully remote, distributed team environment. Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and attention to detail.
