VCF Engineer

World Wide Technology is looking for Sr. VCF Engineer. This job is part of WWT’s Strategic Resourcing services. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT’s preferred partners. The partner will provide full compensation and benefit information prior to employment with the partner. Title in System: Sr. VCF Engineer Location: Remote - EST hours Hours: 320 ( 2 months) Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $65/hr. to $75/hr. hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay. Skill set: VCF Install HW/Deploy of ISO/to deploy LAB/UAT, 100%, 8 weeks • Hardware- Resource needs to have built a lab from the ground up. • Has installed VCF into a lab environment • Has experience installing or managing the installation of hardware. Overview We are seeking a hands-on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Lab Deployment Engineer to lead the end-to-end installation and configuration of hardware and software components for a new lab/UAT environment. This role requires strong practical experience in hardware deployment, VCF installation, and lab environment setup from the ground up. Responsibilities • Install and configure physical hardware to support VCF lab and UAT environments. • Perform end-to-end deployment of VCF ISO and ensure successful setup of the full VCF stack. • Build and validate a VCF lab environment from scratch, including compute, network, and storage components. • Manage and document the installation process, configuration details, and troubleshooting steps. • Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to ensure proper integration and alignment with enterprise standards. • Conduct testing, validation, and performance tuning of lab systems post-deployment. Qualifications • Strong hands-on experience installing and managing physical hardware in enterprise or lab environments. • Proven experience building lab environments from the ground up. • Direct experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) installation and configuration. • Familiarity with VMware vSphere, NSX, and vSAN components. • Ability to work independently and deliver results within an 8-week project timeline. • Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills. Preferred Skills • Experience with automated deployments using PowerCLI, Ansible, or scripting tools. • Understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs, routing, switches). • Previous experience working in UAT or non-production lab environments.
