Vehicle System Dynamics Simulation Engineer This role supports vehicle system development through creation, execution, and analysis of vehicle dynamics simulations. The focus is on building scalable simulation workflows, supporting stakeholders with simulation execution, and analyzing results to identify issues and improve model realism. Scope: • Create and maintain simulation scenarios and driving datasets for system development, verification, and validation. • Develop and maintain large-scale simulation workflows to support system evaluation and testing. • Productionize and automate model validation workflows. • Create and maintain documentation for vehicle dynamics models and simulation workflows. • Execute simulation workflows for stakeholders and support their use of simulation tools. • Triage vehicle dynamics simulation issues, including bugs filed by stakeholders. • Implement fixes for simulation issues when possible or escalate to Vehicle System Dynamics engineers as needed. • Review simulation results and generate standardized visualizations (plots, tables, dashboards). • Identify and document simulation realism issues and support resolution efforts. Required: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Control Systems, or similar), or 2+ years of equivalent practical experience in a simulation or vehicle dynamics environment. • Familiarity with vehicle dynamics and tire modeling and simulation concepts. • Proficiency in Python for scripting custom simulation scenarios. • Experience analyzing and visualizing simulation or log data using tools such as Python (pandas, matplotlib) or MATLAB. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including documenting technical findings in tools such as Jira or bug trackers and formal reports. Pluses: • Master’s degree in a relevant technical field and/or coursework in rigid body or vehicle dynamics. • Experience with vehicle dynamics simulation tools such as CarSim, CarMaker, or Simulink. • Some experience with C++ development to modify or extend simulation models. • Experience using multidomain modeling tools such as Simscape or Maplesim. • Familiarity with automotive actuators (brakes, steering, powertrain) and vehicle safety systems (ABS, YSC, TCS).
