SKILLS REQUIRED

• 15+ years of extensive, production-grade enterprise experience in WebSphere Commerce Suite (WCS) development and architecture

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders

Operating on client PST hours, this specialized contract role is tailored for a self-motivated technical architect who thrives under minimal supervision. You will be responsible for modifying, optimizing, and supporting complex enterprise commerce configurations, actively collaborating with Agile delivery squads and business units to translate high-level digital retail strategies into high-performing code.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the technical development, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise-level WebSphere Commerce Suite (WCS) platforms to support high-volume digital retail applications.
• Design, analyze, and build robust backend system integrations and business logic utilizing Java, with a preference for modern Spring Boot frameworks where applicable.
• Take full ownership of the end-to-end delivery cycle: troubleshooting complex ecosystem bottlenecks, writing deterministic code, and deploying solutions independently.
• Interface directly with business analysts and product teams to translate corporate retail requirements into lean, production-ready software designs.
• Attend and actively contribute to daily Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and architectural reviews to maintain alignment across distributed engineering teams.
• Oversee and validate structured data schemas across components using XML/XSD and build modular frontend enhancements utilizing modern JavaScript and React.
